Procedure

Eligibility

Faculties may have specific eligibility requirements related to the applicant’s major, coursework, degrees, or academic performance. These limitations will be listed on the faculty website. TDTU is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment.

Requirements

To be admitted as a regular graduate student, an applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing. Students in their final year of undergraduate study may be admitted on the condition that their bachelor’s degree is awarded before they enroll at TDTU.

The application process can vary significantly between faculties, but in general the following list of application requirements holds true:

A. Application requirement's documents for master's program:

  1. Application Form (Submit online)

  2. Curriculum Vitae (Based on TDTU's format)

  3. Consular legalization of Bachelor's degree certificates and transcripts (attached English translation, or Vietnamese translation if transcripts are in a foreign language)

  4. Statement of purpose (500 words) in TDTU format

  5. Vietnamese proficiency certificate CEFR B2 (level 4 over 6)

  6. Notarized copy of Passport

  7. Reference Letter (if any)

  8. Photograph (3x4 cm)

  9. Health check report (within the last 6 months)

  10. Applicants who completed their degree in a language other than English are required to submit evidence of English proficiency

  11. Bank guarantee (The bank account balance as bank owner with the minimum amount of $2,500, and invalid until the application submission deadline)

  12. Criminal record (within the last 6 months)

  13. International student commitment form (Submit directly to the Department of Graduate Studies on arrival at Tan Phong campus)

B. Application requirement's documents for doctoral program:

  1. Application Form (Submit online)

  2. Curriculum Vitae/ Resume (Based TDTU's format)

  3. Consular legalization of Master's Degree certificates and transcripts (attached English translation if transcripts are in a foreign language)

  4. Consular legalization of Bachelor's Degree certificates and transcripts (attached English translation if transcripts are in a foreign language)

  5. Research publications (all files of published papers)

  6. Statement of purpose (500 words) in TDTU format

  7. Two (02) Reference letters (at least one (01) letter of Master thesis’s advisor)
  8. Notarized copy of Passport

  9. Photograph (3x4 cm)

  10. Health check report (within the last 6 months)

  11. Applicants who completed their degree in a language other than English are required to submit evidence of English proficiency

  12. Bank guarantee (The bank account balance as bank owner with the minimum amount $2,500, and in valid until the application submission deadline)

  13. Criminal record (within the last 6 months)

Review

Applicants are evaluated by the individual faculty in which they intend to register on the basis of their prior performance and professional promise, as evidenced by their academic records, letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with their capabilities, and any other pertinent information they submit. Admission notifications are communicated directly by the School of Graduate Studies usually in the form of email or through the online application portal.
