Graduation requirement for second language proficiency of TESOL program

Students must meet one of the following conditions to be recognized as meeting the output standards for foreign language proficiency of Master’s Program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages: (applied from 2018 Admission onwards)

1. Degree

a. Have a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree issued by a foreign higher education institution (the main language used in the course of study must be English) and this educational institution (or a diploma of educational institutions) are on the list of educational institutions and university degrees that are recognized by the competent authorities of Vietnam, or in the list of higher education institutions in which there is a Protocol or other nationally recognized document between their country and Vietnam; or is a higher education institution in the world's TOP 1,000 according to prestigious ranking organizations; or diplomas from joint training programs that have been approved in written document by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training...;
b. Have a university degree or higher from a public educational institution in the country where the language used in training is entirely in English without translation;
c. Have a university degree or higher in English language;
d. Have a university degree or higher in one of the 6 majors of Russian, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese languages for students of Master program in English language.

2. Certificate

a. Language proficiency: have one of the following international certificates within the valid period specified in item b mentioned below for students enroll in Master program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

b. Requirement for certificate to be approved: within a period of 02 (two) years calculated from the certificated date to the reviewing condition for Master’s thesis defense date.
