Eleven Universities in Vietnam entered the Asia University Rankings
Eleven Universities in Vietnam have made their appearances on the Asia University Rankings according to the recent rankings result published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS AUR) on 2nd November.
Leading on the top among Vietnamese universities is Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) at 142nd place (Last year, TDTU was ranked at 163rd place and 3rd place in Vietnam). The 2nd place is Vietnam National University Hanoi at 147th place - the same ranking in QS AUR 2020 but has risen to the top 21,4% this year; The universities following after are Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City at 179th place, Duy Tan University at 210th place, Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Top 281-290, Hue University in Top 401-500, Can Tho University in Top 501-550; Hanoi National University of Education and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in Top 551-600; Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in Top 601-650.
For this year's rankings, Singapore still maintaining their outstanding achievement with 2 universities on top of the rankings, which are National University of Singapore at 1st place in Asia; 11st place in World and Nanyang Technological University at 3rd place in Asia; 12nd place in World. Additionally, in South-East Asian region, Malaysia has the most educational institutions in Top 50 with 5 institutions, wherein, University of Malaya has the highest ranking with 8th place. Following after Malaysia are Thailand with 23 institutions included in the rankings, 2 of which are in Top 50; Philippines with 15 institutions and Indonesia with 34 institutions.
The QS AUR 2022 rankings has 675 higher education institutions in Asia (38 institutions made their first-time appearance on the rankings). The rankings result is based on feedbacks from more than 130000 scholars and 75000 employers around the world along with analyzation of 96 millions citations (within 2015-2020 period) from 14,7 millions scientific journals (within 2015-2019 period) after removal of citations. As for criterias and proportional value, QS AUR 2022 rankings used the same methodology with 11 indicatiors: Academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (20%), Faculty/student ratio (10%), International research network (10%), Citations per paper (10%), Papers per faculty (5%), Staff with a PhD (5%), Proportion of international faculty (2.5%), Proportion of international students (2.5%), Proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%), Proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).
