Ton Duc Thang University is ranked at 82nd place on THE

Five Universities in Vietnam enter the world University rankings.

Vietnam National University Hanoi, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ton Duc Thang University, and Duy Tan University have made their way into the Emerging Economies University Rankings 2022.

Times Higher Education (THE) has published rankings result for the Emerging Economies University Rankings 2022, wherein, Vietnam has five educational institutions, two more institutions compared to 2021. The three institutions from 2021 rankings continue to appear on the 2022 rankings are Vietnam National University Hanoi, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. In addition, two new institutions appeared on the rankings for the first time ever are Ton Duc Thang University and Duy Tan University. It is worth to mention that both institutions also have high ranking. Particularly, Ton Duc Thang University ranked at 82nd place while Duy Tan University ranked at 107th place, Vietnam National University Hanoi is in Top 301- 350; Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City is in Top 401-500, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology is in Top 501+.

The Emerging Economies University Rankings from the Times Higher Education includes many educational institutions from nations which were categorized as “Advanced emerging”, “Secondary emerging”, and “Frontier” by the FTSE Group of London Stock Exchange Group. In 2022, there are 698 educational institutions from 50 nations and regions ranked by THE, increased by 92 institutions compared to 2021. China remains as the nation with the most educational institutions leading on the rankings with 5 representatives in Top 10 and 51 representatives in Top 200. Some of the top universities from South-East Asia region have high ranking are University of Malaya (Malaysia) at 36th place, PETRONAS University of Technology (Malaysia) at 60th place, University of Putra Malaysia at 81st place, Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam) at 82nd place, Mahidol University (Thailand) at 87th place, National University of Malaysia at 91st place…

The rankings from THE were assessed and determined based on 5 standards from each educational institution: Teaching (the learning environment) accounts for 30%; Research (volume, income, and reputation) accounts for 30%; Citations (research influence) accounts for 20%; International outlook (staff, students, and research) accounts for 10%; and Industry income (knowledge transfer) accounts for 10%. The proportional value of each area is adjusted accordingly to reflect the priority in development of the respective Emerging Economies University.

Annually, Times Higher Education publishes rankings to evaluate universities around the globe by conducting research on core missions of a university with the use of a set performance indicators to provide the finest and fairest comparisons. Therefore, THE is highly trusted by students, learners, educational institutions, governments, and academic communities. The rankings from THE can be considered one of the most prestigious and impactful education rankings in the world.
