SCHOLARSHIPS

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) scholarships provide talented and deserving international students with the opportunity to develop a passion for learning in our engaged, dynamic and inclusive university.

We offer scholarships based on GPA of students and the scholarship will be reviewed every year. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply online at our application system.

First-Year Scholarship for International Graduate Students

1. Eligibility: Foreign applicants who hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and meet the requirements for admission and enrollment in master’s or doctoral programs at TDTU from 2026 onward (hereinafter referred to as “international graduate students”).

2. Scholarship Criteria and Award Levels

    2.1 100% scholarship

    Applicants with a GPA of 3.50 or above (on a 4.00 scale) or equivalent will be considered for a scholarship covering 100% of the first-year tuition fee, dormitory accommodation for the first year, and the full admission fee. 

   2.2 50% scholarship

   Applicants with a GPA of 3.00 or above (on a 4.00 scale) or equivalent will be considered for a scholarship covering 50% of the first-year tuition fee, 100% of the first-year dormitory fee, and 50% of the admission fee.

3. Scholarship Award Principles

  • Based on the number of applicants who meet the admission requirements, the Scholarship Evaluation Council will award scholarships in descending order of priority until all allocated scholarships have been awarded. The order of priority is as follows: (1) Cumulative GPA at the bachelor’s/master’s level; (2) Country of citizenship; (3) Scientific research achievements; (4) Ranking of the applicant’s graduating institution within the top 1.000 of THE, QS, URAP, or ARWU; (5) the applicant’s potential to enroll in and successfully complete the program at the University (as assessed through an interview). Priority by nationality is determined in the following order: (1) ASEAN countries; (2) Other Asian countries; (3) Developing countries; and (4) Countries in Europe, the Americas, and Oceania (excluding countries subject to entry restrictions under applicable laws and regulations).
  • The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for failed courses, repeated courses for grade improvement, courses exempted through credit recognition and transfer, or courses exceeding the minimum credit requirements of the academic program.
  • The scholarship will be disbursed every six months based on the international graduate student’s academic performance.
  • Scholarship recipients will be accommodated in the designated international student dormitory.
  • Any exceptional cases shall be reviewed and decided by the President based on recommendations from the Department of Graduate Studies and relevant departments.

4. Scholarship Application Documents

     International students must submit a Scholarship Application Form (according to the University's template) via the online submission system.
Scholarship for International Graduate Students from the Second Year Onward

1. Eligibility: International students who have received a first-year scholarship for master’s or doctoral programs, or a second-year scholarship for doctoral programs, and are currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at TDTU.

2. Application Period: International graduate students shall submit scholarship applications in accordance with the timeline and instructions announced by the Department of Graduate Studies. 

3. Conditions and Evaluation Criteria

    3.1 100% Scholarship
    Students may be considered for a scholarship covering 100% of the second-/third-year tuition fee and dormitory fee if they meet the following conditions:

  • Comply fully with the academic and research plan for each academic year. For doctoral candidates, research progress and publication of WoS/Scopus-indexed articles will be additionally evaluated.
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 8.00 or above (on a 10.00 scale) at the time of review.
  • Have not received any academic warning.
  • Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.

    3.2 50% Scholarship
    Students may be considered for a scholarship covering 50% of the second-/third-year tuition fee and 100% of the dormitory fee if they meet the following conditions:

  • Comply fully with the academic and research plan for each academic year. For doctoral candidates, research progress and publication of WoS/Scopus-indexed articles will be additionally evaluated.
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 7.00 or above (on a 10.00 scale) at the time of review.
  • Have not received any academic warning.
  • Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.

4. Scholarship Awarding Principles

  • The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for failed courses, repeated courses for grade improvement, courses exempted through credit recognition and transfer, or courses exceeding the minimum credit requirements of the academic program.
  • The scholarship will be disbursed every six months throughout the standard duration of the academic program based on the international graduate student’s academic performance.
  • Students who received a first-year scholarship at a particular level will be considered for the same scholarship level in the second or third year.
  • If a doctoral student’s scholarship is discontinued in the second year due to failure to meet the continuation criteria, the student may reapply for the scholarship in the third year.
  • Students who change their field of study or academic program will not be eligible to continue receiving the scholarship for the new field or program.
  • Scholarship recipients will be accommodated in the dormitory designated for international students.
  • Any exceptional cases shall be reviewed and decided by the President based on recommendations from the Department of Graduate Studies and relevant departments.

5. Scholarship Application Documents

  • Original academic transcript up to the time of application
  • Supporting documents for scientific research achievements (if any)
  • Supporting documents demonstrating participation in activities supporting the Faculties/Institutes and the Department of Graduate Studies

Living Allowance Support for International Graduate Students

1. Eligibility: International students who meet the eligibility requirements for the graduate scholarship of the corresponding academic year.

2. Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Register to support assigned tasks at the Faculty/Institute for a minimum of 20 hours per week under the assignment and supervision of the managing Faculty/Institute.
  • Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.

3. Number of Awards and Support Level

  • Number of awards: 05 awards in 2026.
  • Support level: VND 3,500,000 per month for each recipient.

4. Application Period: International graduate students shall submit applications for living allowance support in each academic year and within the standard duration of the academic program.

5. Award Principles

  • Any exceptional cases shall be reviewed and decided by the President based on recommendations from the Department of Graduate Studies and relevant departments.
