Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) scholarships provide talented and deserving international students with the opportunity to develop a passion for learning in our engaged, dynamic and inclusive university.
We offer scholarships based on GPA of students and the scholarship will be reviewed every year. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply online at our application system.
- First-year graduate international student scholarship

1. Eligibility: International candidates who hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree and meet the eligibility requirements for admission and enrollment in a Vietnamese-taught or English-taught Master's or Doctoral program at TDTU from 2025 onwards (hereinafter referred to as "international students").
2. Scholarship Criteria and Award Levels:
Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria, listed in order of priority: (1) Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of the Bachelor's or Master's degree; (2) Scientific research achievements; (3) Ranking of the applicant’s graduating institution within the top 1.000 of THE, QS, URAP, or ARWU; (4) Country of citizenship; (5) The applicant’s potential to successfully enroll and complete the program at TDTU (assessed through an interview).2.1 100% scholarship:
Applicants with a GPA of 3.40 or above (on a 4.00 scale) or equivalent will be considered for a scholarship covering 100% of the first-year tuition fee, dormitory accommodation for the first year, and the full admission fee.
2.2 50% scholarship:
Applicants with a GPA of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale) or equivalent will be considered for a scholarship covering 50% of the first-year tuition fee, 100% of the first-year dormitory fee, and 50% of the admission fee.
2.3 25% scholarship:
Applicants with a GPA of 3.00 or above (on a 4.00 scale) or equivalent will be considered for a scholarship covering 25% of the first-year tuition fee, 100% of the first-year dormitory fee, and 25% of the admission fee.
3. Scholarship Awarding Principles
- Scholarships will be awarded based on the number of eligible applicants. The Scholarship Evaluation Council will rank candidates by merit in descending order, according to the criteria above, until the allocated scholarship fund is fully distributed.
- Country-based priority is given in the following order:
(1) ASEAN countries; (2) Other Asian countries; (3) Developing countries; (4) European, American, and Oceanian countries (excluding those on the restricted entry list as stipulated by law). - For Master's programs: The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for failed courses, grade improvement courses, credit-transferred or recognized courses, or any credits exceeding the minimum graduation requirements of the program. Disbursement is based on academic performance at the end of the first academic year.
- For Doctoral programs: The scholarship is disbursed at the end of each semester of the first academic year.
- Scholarship recipients will be accommodated in the designated international student dormitory.
4. Scholarship application documents
International students must submit a Scholarship Application Form (according to the University's template) via the online submission system. - Scholarship for international graduate students from the second-year onward

1. Eligibility: International students who were awarded a first-year postgraduate scholarship (for both Master's and Doctoral programs), and are currently enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program at TDTU.
2. Conditions and Evaluation Criteria
2.1 100% Scholarship
Students may be considered for a scholarship covering 100% of the second-/third-year tuition fee and dormitory fee if they meet the following conditions:- Comply fully with the academic and research plan for each academic year. For doctoral candidates, research progress and publication of WoS/Scopus-indexed articles will be additionally evaluated.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 8.00 or above (on a 10.00 scale) at the time of review.
- Have not received any academic warning.
- Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.
2.2 50% Scholarship
Students may be considered for a scholarship covering 50% of the second-/third-year tuition fee and 100% of the dormitory fee if they meet the following conditions:- Comply fully with the academic and research plan for each academic year. For doctoral candidates, research progress and publication of WoS/Scopus-indexed articles will be additionally evaluated.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 7.50 or above (on a 10.00 scale) at the time of review.
- Have not received any academic warning.
- Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.
2.3 25% Scholarship
Students may be considered for a scholarship covering 25% of the second-/third-year tuition fee and 100% of the dormitory fee if they meet the following conditions:- Comply fully with the academic and research plan for each academic year. For doctoral candidates, research progress and publication of WoS/Scopus-indexed articles will be additionally evaluated.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 7.00 or above (on a 10.00 scale) at the time of review.
- Have not received any academic warning.
- Are not subject to any disciplinary action from warning level or higher at TDTU, and are not under criminal investigation.
3 Scholarship Awarding Principles
- Scholarships will be awarded based on the number of eligible applications. The Scholarship Evaluation Council will assess candidates in descending order of merit until the allocated scholarship fund is exhausted.
- For Master's programs: The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for failed courses, grade improvement courses, courses with transferred or recognized credits, or credits exceeding the minimum graduation requirement. The scholarship is disbursed based on academic performance after the completion of the second academic year.
- For Doctoral programs: The scholarship is disbursed at the end of each semester during the second and/or third academic year.
- Students who received a first-year scholarship at a particular level will be considered for the same level of scholarship in the second or third year.
- If a doctoral student’s scholarship is discontinued in the second year due to failure to meet the continuation criteria, the student may reapply for the scholarship in the third year.
- Students who change their field of study or academic program will not be eligible to continue receiving the scholarship for the new field or program.
- Scholarship recipients will be accommodated in the dormitory designated for international students.
- Any exceptional cases will be subject to review and approval by the University President based on recommendations from relevant departments.
