PhD candidate Tran Thanh Phong successfully defended his dissertation at the  training institution level

On August 10, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held an evaluation of the  dissertation for PhD candidate Tran Thanh Phong, (ID: 201917001) in Electrical Engineering (Major code: 9520201).
He is the first PhD candidate majored in Electrical Engineering to successfully defend his dissertation  at the training institution level with the topic “Load frequency control in multi-area interconnected power system using sliding mode control” under the guidance of Dr. Huynh Van Van (TDTU) and Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau (TDTU)
Mr. Tran Thanh Phong has been accepted as a PhD student from the 2020 admission season, and has completed the workload as follows:  

  • Completion of doctoral modules: 12 credits
  • Research proposal: 04 credits (8.0/10.0)
  • Research topic 1: 03 credits (8.0/10.0)
  • Research topic 2: 03 credits (8.2/10.0)
  • 04 articles published in WoS indexed journals.
  • 03 articles published in Scopus indexed journals.
  • Completed the defense of doctoral thesis at the management units
  • Complete the independent dissertation examination.

The doctoral thesis of PhD candidate Tran Thanh Phong was approved by the members of dissertation examination council of a training institution with a total of 07/07 votes.
Speaking after defending his thesis, PhD candidate expressed his deep gratitude to his instructors, the Presidential Board, the Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and the Department of Graduate Studies for supporting the students during their study and research at the University.
