Ton Duc Thang University Has Granted Scholarships to Foreign Graduate Students in the Fall Semester 2020

In the Fall Semester of 2020, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has received 155 online applications for graduate study from international students coming from more than 43 countries around the world. The graduate studies at TDTU include 18 Master’s programs and 6 Doctoral programs.

Business Administration, Sociology, and Computer Science are the three majors that attracted most international applicants. In this admission, applicants mainly come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, India, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, etc. After the Faculty evaluation’s round, 43 applicants are admitted to the School evaluation, which accounts for 27.7% of the total students applying for the graduate programs.

To expand the scale of international postgraduate education and increase the number of foreign students with outstanding academic performance, language proficiency, and research potentials, TDTU has offered scholarships to 14 out of 29 applicants at the final round (include 11 scholarships in Master’s programs and 3 scholarships in Doctoral programs). TDTU’s scholarships are only awarded to 9% of international applicants who are exclusively supported to study and research at TDTU.

The Scholarship committee assessed and decided to award scholarships according to the following criteria:

  • Graduated from university ranking in THE, QS, URAP or ARWU
  • GPA above 3.6 (in scale 4.0) for 100% scholarship
  • GPA above 3.4 (in scale 4.0) for 50% scholarship
  • GPA above 3.2 (in scale 4.0) for 25% scholarship
  • Good in English (have IELTS >=5.5 or TOEFL iBT >=50)
  • Match all required documents for application
  • Applicants’ publications (published papers, ISI/Scopus/conference’s journals) for Doctoral programs.

In the Fall semester 2020, Ton Duc Thang University has granted 14 scholarships to foreign graduate students with a total value of more than 500 million VND. In which, there are 9 scholarships for Master program (total estimated value of mostly 300 million VND), 3 scholarships for PhD program (total value up to more than 200 million VND), and 2 scholarships for Masters of the Vietnamese Preparatory courses (total value of more than 50 million VND). The value of the scholarship is granted based on the student's achievements with the aim of supporting students with their expenses in studying at the university.
