Ton Duc Thang University spends $2.8 million to attract international students
To become an international research university by 2030, and execute a global education and training mission, TDTU always prioritizes funding sources to attract and train international students. In the academic year 2020-2021, TDTU has considered and granted scholarships to foreigners who are international students and postgraduate students with a total of 268 scholarships, and the total value of admission scholarships granted for international students is 1.8 million USD. Thanks to the flexible scholarship policy from the university autonomy mechanism, the University has continuously increased the number of international students from France, the US, Russia, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, India, Korea, Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nigeria...

In the academic year 2021-2022, TDTU continues to select and grant scholarships to international students wishing to study at the University. According to the plan, TDTU will grant 250 scholarships, including 130 university scholarships, 90 Master’s degree scholarships, and 30 postgraduate scholarships. The total value of scholarships is 1 million USD, of which TDTU will especially grant to international students when studying 100% English-language programs, including 30 scholarships of university programs, 50 scholarships of master programs, and 30 scholarships of doctor programs. For doctor training at TDTU, it has all 06 branches of training 100% in English.

TDTU's scholarship policy will pay international students for the entire training period of the official program, including funding from 25% to 100% of training costs, Vietnamese language learning costs and boarding expenses, corresponding to the support scholarships (25%), partial scholarships (50%) and total scholarships (100%).
When international students apply for university training and enter the 100% English program, they must meet the English requirement IELTS 5.0 or equivalence. At the postgraduate level, TDTU aims to select and award scholarships to deserving international students, so the postgraduate training admission committee reviews the candidates' profiles and the criteria are required that candidates’ GPA must be above 3.2 (on a scale of 4.0), candidates must have English fluency (with IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iPT 50, TOEIC 600 certificates). Especially, candidates applying for post-graduate programs must graduate from universities in the TOP 1000 of the prestigious rankings of THE, QS, ARWU, URAP. For candidates applying for a doctor’s degree, they must have the capacity and passion for scientific research, as shown in their application documents, there must be at least 01 scientific publication on the Web of Science (WoS) list.
To motivate and maintain academic results at TDTU, the University will annually re-evaluate the previous year's learning process to decide whether to raise or lower the scholarship level according to the academic ability of the international students. The University's scholarship policy helps learners to be motivated to strive in their studies and continue to pursue their dreams of improving their academic qualifications when enjoying the scholarship policy at TDTU.
