TDTU scholarships provide talented and deserving international students with the opportunity to develop a passion for learning in our engaged, dynamic and inclusive university.

We offer scholarships based on GPA of students and the scholarship will be reviewed every year. Students from all over the world are welcome to apply online at our application system.

Scholarship for first-year graduate students

1. Target students: International students who have been admitted to graduate programs at TDTU through the admissions rounds.

2. Eligibility Criteria:

The Scholarship Allocation Committee will review scholarship applications submitted by admitted and enrolled international students in descending order until the scholarship funds are fully allocated.

     2.1 Full scholarship: covers 100% of tuition fees, admission fees and dormitory fees at buildings K and L, provided to international students in their first academic year after being admitted and enrolled at TDTU. International students are eligible for the scholarship if they meet the following criterias:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA at the undergraduate level (for master's programs) or at the master's level (for doctoral programs) with an outstanding grade (≥ 3.6 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent).
  • The university from which the international student graduated must be ranked in the TOP 1.000 of THE/ QS/ URAP/ ARWU rankings.

    2.2 Partial scholarship: covers 50% of tuition fees, admission fees and 100% dormitory fees at buildings K and L, provided to international students in their first academic year after being admitted and enrolled at TDTU. International students are eligible for the scholarship if they meet the following criterias:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA at the undergraduate level (for master's program) or at the master's level (for doctoral program) with an excellent grade (from 3.4 - ≤ 3.6 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent).
  • The university from which the international student graduated must be ranked in the TOP 1.000 of THE/ QS/ URAP/ ARWU rankings.

    2.3 Support scholarship: covers 25% of tuition fees, admission fees and 100% dormitory fees at buildings K and L, provided to exchange students in their first academic year after being admitted and enrolled at TDTU. International students are eligible for the scholarship if they meet the following criteria:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA at the undergraduate level (for master's programs) or at the master's level (for doctoral programs) with an good grade (from 3.2 - ≤ 3.4 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent).
  • The university from which the international student graduated must be ranked in the TOP 1.000 of THE/ QS/ URAP/ ARWU rankings.

Note:

  • If students have equal academic scores, scholarship priority for international students will be given based on research capabilities and nationality.
    • Priority 1: Southeast Asian countries;
    • Priority 2: Asian countries (except for countries on the list of restricted entry to Vietnam);
    • Priority 3: Countries that are developing countries but are not on the list of entry restrictions into Vietnam;
    • Priority 4: European countries, America, Australia.
  • The scholarship will be further considered for the next academic year based on the academic results and achievements of the students in the preceding year.

3. Scholarship application documents

Scholarship application documents are submitted along with the pre-admission application through the online system.

    3.1 Master’s degree level

  • Online application form for pre-admission (application system);
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) (provided template here);
  • Certified copy of the bachelor's degree certificate or confirmation from the competent authority (with Vietnamese or English translation);
  • Certified copy of the undergraduate transcript by the competent authority (with Vietnamese or English translation);
  • English proficiency certificate issued by an authorized educational institution;
  • Vietnamese proficiency certificate at B2 level issued by an authorized educational institution if applying for a master's program conducted in Vietnamese;
  • Certified copy of language proficiency certificates: Vietnamese (B2), French (DELF B1/TCF niveau 3), Russian (TRKI 1), German (B1/ZDfB), Chinese (HSK3), Japanese (JLPT N3) (applicable to TESOL major);
  • Study and research proposal at TDTU;
  • Health certificate issued by a hospital or medical center valid for 6 months to the submission date;
  • Financial commitment statement ensuring the ability to cover tuition fees, research and living expenses;
  • Judicial record;
  • Certified copy of passport.

    3.2 Doctoral degree level

  • Online application form for pre-admission (application system);
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) (provided template here);
  • Certified copies of bachelor's and master's degree certificates, authenticated by competent authority (with Vietnamese or English translation);
  • Certified copies of undergraduate and master's degree transcripts authenticated competent authority (with Vietnamese or English translation);
  • List and copies of published scientific articles;
  • English proficiency certificate issued by an authorized educational institution;
  • Vietnamese proficiency certificate issued by an authorized educational institution (if available);
  • Study and research proposal for the Ph.D. program at TDTU;
  • Letters of recommendation from 02 scientists in the same field of study as the applicant;
  • Health certificate issued by a hospital or medical center valid for 6 months to the submission date;
  • Financial commitment statement ensuring the ability to cover tuition fees, research, and living expenses;
  • Judicial record;
  • Certified copy of passport.
Scholarship for postgraduate students from the second-year onward

 

1. Target students: Postgraduate students currently enrolled at the TDTU from the second year onward, adhering to or ahead of the standard duration of the postgraduate program.

2. Eligibility Criteria: The Scholarship Allocation Committee will review scholarship applications submitted by admitted and enrolled international students from the second year onward in descending order until the scholarship funds are fully allocated. 

    2.1 Full Scholarship: covers 100% of tuition fee and 100% dormitory fee at Buildings K and L, provided to postgraduate students from the second year onward. Renewal of the scholarship annually is contingent upon meeting the following criterias:

  • Achieving a cumulative GPA of 8.0 or above in the most recent academic year (on a scale of 10.0).
  • Attaining satisfactory results in all registered courses.
  • Positive feedback from the specialized management unit.
  • For research students (Ph.D. candidates), additional consideration will be given to the progress of research and publication of papers in WoS/Scopus-indexed journals.

   2.2 Partial Scholarship: Covers 50% of tuition fees and 100% of dormitory fees at Buildings K and L, granted to postgraduate students from the second year onward. Renewal of the scholarship annually is contingent upon meeting the following criterias:

  • Achieving a cumulative GPA of 7.5 to below 8.0 in the most recent academic year semesters (on a scale of 10.0).
  • Attaining satisfactory results in all registered courses.
  • Positive feedback from the specialized management unit.
  • For research students (Ph.D. candidates), additional consideration will be given to the progress of research and publication of papers in WoS/Scopus-indexed journals.

    2.3 Support Scholarship: cover 25% of tuition fees and 100% of dormitory fees at Buildings K and L, offered to postgraduate students from the second year onward. Renewal of the scholarship annually is contingent upon meeting the following criterias:

  • Achieving a cumulative GPA of 7.0 to below 7.5 in the most recent academic year semesters (on a scale of 10.0).
  • Attaining satisfactory results in all registered courses.
  • Positive feedback from the specialized management unit.
  • For research students (Ph.D. candidates), additional consideration will be given to the progress of research and publication of papers in WoS/Scopus-indexed journals.

3. Scholarship Application Documents:

  • Scholarship application form (provided by the University).
  • Official transcript of the two most recent academic semesters at the time of application.
  • Evidence of research achievements (if applicable).
  • Documentation of participation in departmental or postgraduate support activities.
