Handing over Ton Duc Thang University Dormitory as an isolation area

Following the guideline of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has handed over buildings I and H to use as a temporary medical isolation area for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.

Previously, on June 15, 2021, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sent an urgent the official dispatch to 3 universities in Ho Chi Minh City including Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Ton Duc Thang University on requisitioning the dormitories as places for concentrated isolation.

After discussing and agreeing with relevant agencies, on June 18, 2021, the Dormitory informed the boarding students about the arrangement of personal items to prepare for the handover. On June 22, 2021, the Military Command of District 7 took over and performed the final work such as arranging working means, disinfecting the entire two buildings to be ready for the isolation. Nearly 300 students who were staying at Dormitory Building I and H of the Dormitory were moved to buildings K and L.

Dormitory I and H of TDTU have been put into use since 2010, with a capacity of about 2.000 students, and considered the most modern and cleanest dormitory with a cool layout of rooms and a series of utility services. In 2018, the star organization QS-Stars (UK) gave it an absolute rating of 5 stars/5 stars when evaluating its facilities.

Contributing to the City and the whole country in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, over the past few days, boarding students at TDTU Dormitory have left beautiful and friendly images when joining hands in cleaning and moving things and have not forgot to leave cute messages to encourage those who are temporarily isolated:

“We are very happy to share this space with everyone, contribute to the work of epidemic prevention... We have tried to arrange and clean up so that everyone can feel comfortable during this time staying here. Therefore, we hope everyone can help us keep the hygiene as well as preserve the property and furniture in the room.... Wishing everyone good health and safe isolation."

Participating in the arrangement with students on June 22, 2021, a soldier in the reception team wrote on the University's Facebook: “We just cleaned the room today. Take a tour around the University. Very cool, the view is very beautiful, students are cute,...". Replying to this comment, there are many agreeing opinions: "The TDTU students act so cute."
