The 2024 Lecturer-Staff Music Contest at Ton Duc Thang University

On May 13-14, 2024, the Trade Union of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the 2024 Lecturer-Staff Music Contest. This annual event commemorates several significant historical milestones: The 49th Anniversary of Vietnam’s National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), The International Workers’ Day (May 1), The 134th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), and The 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

With the theme “Love for Homeland and Country”, the 38 performances were meticulously staged to convey significant messages to the audience. These messages emphasized national pride, love for the homeland, and the aspirations of youth in their journey to assert themselves and reach out to the world. They also highlighted the goal of building a prosperous and beautiful nation by achieving excellence in research and teaching, aiming to make TDTU a prestigious and high-ranking institution.

Distinguished panel of judges, including Meritorious Artist Pham The Vi, Head of the Vocal Department at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, and Choreographer Nhu Trang, a dance instructor and member of the Vietnam Dancers’ Association, were invited to ensure a fair and professional evaluation of the performances and finally select the most deserving winners after two nights of the contest.
