I. Doctoral Scholarship
1. Eligibility
Doctoral students who have been officially admitted to a doctoral program of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) or to a joint doctoral program between TDTU and partner institutions from 2025 onwards may apply for the doctoral scholarship within one (01) year from the date of issuance of the decision on admission, appointment of supervisors, and approval of the dissertation topic.

In addition, doctoral students with outstanding research achievements and capabilities may be invited to participate in collaborative research activities with research groups of the managing Faculty/Institute and the University.
Notes:
All scientific publications must comply with TDTU’s current regulations. Doctoral students may list one (01) additional institutional affiliation corresponding to their current employing institution.; however, Ton Duc Thang University must be listed as the primary affiliation.
Publications used for doctoral scholarship consideration may also be used to fulfill dissertation defense requirements.
II. Living Allowance Support for Doctoral Students
1. Eligibility: Doctoral students who apply for and receive the doctoral scholarship are eligible to submit applications for living allowance support for each academic year within the standard duration of the doctoral program.
2. Funding Level: 8,000,000 VND/month/doctoral student.
3. Conditions:
+ A letter of guarantee from the academic supervisor is required.
+ Doctoral students are required to work full-time and perform assigned duties under the supervision and management of the Faculty/Institute. In addition, doctoral students are required to register for and commit to completing at least two (02) of the following activities:

III. Scholarship Award Principles
- The Scholarship Evaluation Council will rank students by merit in descending order, according to the criteria above, until the allocated scholarship fund is fully distributed. Priority shall be given based on the following criteria: (1) Scientific research achievements, (2) Permanent faculty members and staff of the University, (3) University Alumni and Former Students.
- Doctoral scholarships and living allowance support shall be disbursed at the end of each semester during the standard duration of the doctoral program.
- Scientific publications must be published or have their full-text versions available online (first online) within the validity period of the Doctoral Scholarship Agreement, and must not have been used for fulfillment, evaluation, or acceptance for any other purposes at TDTU.
- Scholarship renewal for subsequent academic years is contingent upon an annual performance review at the end of each year. To maintain scholarship eligibility, Doctoral Students must satisfy the following requirements:
- Comply with the approved study and research plan for the entire program;
- Not be subject to any academic performance warnings;
- Not be under any disciplinary sanction at the level of “Warning” or higher at TDTU, nor be under criminal investigation or prosecution.
Required Documents for Doctoral Scholarship Application

2. Copy of personal identification documents (Passport/National ID card), or a consularly legalized passport (for international doctoral students)
3. Copies of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates (applicable to Vietnamese students); or consularly legalized translations of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates (applicable to international students).
4. Copy of the Degree Recognition Certificate issued by the Vietnam National Academic Recognition Information Centre (VN-NARIC), Ministry of Education and Training, applicable to degrees awarded by foreign institutions or Vietnamese institutions delivering joint programs with foreign partners.
5. Personal Curriculum Vitae, certified by the local authority or the employing organization (applicable to Vietnamese candidates).
6. Academic Curriculum Vitae / Scientific CV.
7. Doctoral Research Proposal (signed by the doctoral student and the supervisor; the proposal must include a detailed research plan and a proposed timeline for scientific publications).
8. Two (02) Letters of Recommendation from experts, including at least one letter from a referee who is not the supervisor.
9. Supervisor’s Evaluation
10. Copy of the Admission Offer Letter (applicable to students enrolled in joint doctoral programs between the University and its partner institutions).
11. Official Confirmation of Employment at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), clearly stating the employment history and total years of service (applicable to TDTU lecturers and researchers).
12. Criminal Record Check / Police Clearance Certificate (applicable to international applicants).
Note: For doctoral students who have been admitted to and enrolled in joint doctoral programs between TDTU and partner institutions, notarized copies of the documents listed in items b, c, d, and j are required.
